The Cabinet for Health and Family Services says Republicans made “cruel” budget cuts. Speaker Osborne says it was Gov. Beshear’s decision to cut so much from Lee.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Hundreds of families across Kentucky went into hysteria on Thursday night, when word started to spread that the Lee Specialty Clinic on Manslick Road was headed towards large budget cuts.
“I heard it on social media. You got people all over social media that are upset, crying about this, demanding that we have some kind of funding for our people. We’re the lost population,” Tina Davis said. Davis is the primary caretaker for her adult son Terrence, who is 32 with autism and is non-verbal.
A spokesperson for the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS) confirmed in a statement Friday that “outpatient services will unfortunately be scaled back significantly” at the Lee Clinic.
