LOUISVILLE, Ky. — State officials say the Lee Specialty Clinic is losing millions due to budget cuts made during this year’s legislative session.
Employees and families connected to Lee Specialty Clinic in south Louisville say state budget cuts could sharply reduce access to specialized care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Ashlea Murphy, a medical assistant at the clinic, said she learned Thursday afternoon that her position would be eliminated as part of the cuts. She said more than 80% of employees are expected to be laid off by July 15, raising concerns that many patients may no longer be able to receive care there.
