It serves over 1000 patients who will likely struggle to get specialty services for dentistry, optometry and speech therapy without intervention.
Kentucky lawmakers are now in conversations to add funding back to a clinic relied on by over a thousand families. Lee Specialty Clinic in south Louisville makes life-changing improvements in its adult patients, for example, helping them learn to speak.
Dr. Steven Stack with the Cabinet for Health and Family Services spoke broadly about how he’ll move forward under lawmakers’ budget cuts.
“If we can find ways to harmonize, not duplicate efforts but complement efforts and move forward, I am optimistic that there are ways to make it better,” Stack said. “But making it better does not mean eliminating entirely, and I think we have to know that as we start.”
