Patients with disabilities face fewer care options as Louisville clinic cuts services (Spectrum News)

Patients with disabilities are losing access to a unique health clinic.

State leaders said budget cuts left Lee Specialty Clinic in Louisville $4 million short, about 80% of its funding.

Two years — that’s how long patients wait for a dental appointment at Lee Specialty Clinic.

Now, more than 1,000 patients may need to find care somewhere else.

With Medicaid funding across the state shrinking and fewer providers equipped to treat these patients, their options are limited.

“Trying to find a dentist that takes Medicaid is hard, it’s impossible,” said Amy Roller, front office manager. “Trying to find a dentist that takes Medicaid and our patient population is non-existent.”
